Queenster Nartey is currently a senior at Grinnell College studying biological chemistry. While conducting research at Iowa State University with Dr. Derrick Rollins, she developed an app that will allow Type 2 diabetics to learn how certain changes in their diet or exercise could affect their blood glucose levels. By allowing people to see immediate results, they are more likely to take action which Queenster believes to be an important step in helping alter activities. Through her multiple research internships, networking, and attending IINSPIRE LSAMP events and workshops, she has been able to enhance her development and prepare her for future research in graduate school.
